About the Role:
This 12-month career development program is designed for individuals interested in building a career in employee benefits, broker relations, and client service. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting brokers while developing the skills needed to manage a book of business and broker relationships.
Throughout the program, you’ll work alongside experienced employee benefits professionals, participate in a structured mentorship program, and take on increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow. Through a combination of formal training and practical experience, you’ll develop the technical, operational, and relationship management skills needed to succeed as an Ancillary Service Analyst. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with peers and leadership across the organization and get involved in networking and community initiatives, including USI Gives Back.
Program Overview:
The Emerson Rogers Career Track Program offers more than 950 hours of structured training and practical, hands-on work experience. The program is designed to gradually transition you from training to real-world responsibilities:
- Months 1–3: 100% training
- Months 4–6: 50% training / 50% hands-on experience
- Months 7–12: 20% training / 80% hands-on experience
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Gain hands-on experience supporting broker service activities, policy administration, and client deliverables.
- Assist with claims, billing inquiries, and other service-related requests.
- Support the processing and implementation of new business, renewals, and Broker of Record letters, ensuring timely completion and compliance with carrier requirements.
- Process plan changes, policy updates, endorsements, and other requests submitted by account executives, broker consultants, and brokers.
- Maintain commission records, client databases, and case documentation in accordance with established workflows and procedures.
- Prepare financial analyses and market review analyses, summarize key findings, and create client-facing deliverables for a variety of business segments.
- Help identify cost-saving opportunities using analytical tools, checklists, and templates.
- Illustrate insurance carrier renewals and new business proposals.
- Manage assigned workflow to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
- Stay current on insurance regulations, carrier products, underwriting guidelines, and value-added programs offered by Emerson Rogers.
- Participate in team meetings, training and mentorship opportunities to build expertise and learn how client strategies and recommendations are developed.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
- Have an associate degree (required).

- Are proficient in Microsoft Excel and other business technology applications.
- Demonstrate effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
