Description and Requirements
About the Role:
The Senior Corporate Communications Specialist plays a key role in supporting USI’s internal and external communications initiatives. In this position, you will develop and implement media and public relations strategies to build brand awareness and showcase USI’s vibrant culture.
What You'll Do:
- Manage weekly social media content to highlight media features, awards, company announcements, inclusion efforts, and employee programs.
- Lead the annual planning and execution of industry rankings and award nominations, coordinating with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Monitor and track external media coverage, maintaining related content on USI’s website.
- Track and report on USI’s presence across employer review and recruiting platforms such as Glassdoor, Indeed, and Comparably.
- Support communications and project management for employee programs and corporate initiatives, including diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, recognition, volunteering, and sustainability programs.
- Manage the development and review of monthly diversity & inclusion theme communications in partnership with internal teams.
- Support content management activities related to USI’s Intranet as needed.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure consistent and effective employer branding across job postings.
- Participate in ad hoc projects for the Chief People Officer, including preparing board materials, responding to data requests, and supporting strategic initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years of communications or media relations experience; experience in the insurance or financial services industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills for social media and employer branding platforms (such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Glassdoor, Indeed, and Comparably).
- Experience with content management systems (e.g., Episerver, SharePoint) and media monitoring tools is preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- A collaborative team player who can adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
