General Description:

Manage the Property & Casualty Technical Resource practice for claims, and collaboration with Risk Control and Analytics. Responsible for claims, analytics, and risk control. Support renewal and new business within the region as respects their Technical Resource needs.  This position will collaborate and report to the Regional Marketing and Placement Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate the Claims processes across the organization and collaborate with the Risk Control and Analytics teams on this communication.
  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment, management, and development of assigned technical resources teams. Establish client and new business assignments.
  • Evaluate staffing and training needs according to USI’s technical service model and budget.
  • Act as a point of escalation for team members and clients for most complex claims issues and engage National Resources, as needed.
  • Act as a liaison with internal counsel on potential Errors & Omissions issues in coordination with the Regional Marketing Leader.
  • Improve the quality and value of existing claims programs.
  • Build rapport with largest regional client accounts from a senior claims and technical perspective.
  • Attend RFP and New Business huddles and presentations to communicate the value proposition of the Claims and overall Technical Resource services.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regional insurance carrier contacts. Act as liaison between clients, USI, and carriers to manage client claims needs.
  • Hold carriers accountable for achieving claims and risk management goals in coordination with the Regional Marketing Leader.
  • Build out standards and measurements for the overall Claims teams and integration of Risk Control and Analytics.
  • Collaborate with regional and national USI peers in building, refining, training, and implementing value-add products and services.
  • Maintain close working relationship with regional sales and operations leaders to ensure organizational alignment.
  • Build out the relationships with third party resources (i.e. law firms, forensics, accounting firms)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 10 years+ of property & casualty technical experience with an insurance brokerage. Areas of concentration to include claims, risk control, or legal.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Practice leadership experience or experience managing a team to execute organizational strategy.
  • Strategic planning experience.
  • Experience with responsibility for managing a budget.
  • Must hold Property & Casualty insurance license. Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU strongly preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of all property & casualty disciplines. Familiarity with underwriting, program design, limit review and benchmarking, loss forecasting and stratification, risk management, contractual requirement and coverage review, loss trending and claims advocacy.
  • Experience in interacting with C-suite level executives. Ability to demonstrate general business acumen and financial agility.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented. Work independently while motivating a team and prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to translate technical subject matter into lay terms with financial impact.
  • Develop working knowledge of the agency automation systems and proprietary USI technologies.

This is a Paid Time Off/Paid Sick Leave eligible position. 18 days per year.

This is a bonus eligible position with a target incentive of 20%.
Salary Range: $180,000 - $190,000
