About the Role:
The Ancillary Broker Liaison Program is designed to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience to prepare you for managing a book of brokers and their business. As a participant, you'll join a mentorship group led by industry experts, gaining increasing responsibility throughout the program. You'll also have opportunities to network with senior executives and colleagues across business lines, and participate in community service initiatives through our USI Gives Back campaign, where all 200+ offices volunteer locally.
The Emerson Rogers Career Track Program offers over 950 hours of formalized training sessions and practical work experience, structured as follows:
- Months 1-3: 100% training
- Months 4-6: 50% training / 50% fieldwork
- Months 7-12: 20% training / 80% fieldwork
- Emphasis on networking and relationship-building skills
What You'll Do:
- Assist with claims and help resolve billing issues.
- Ensure new business, renewals, and broker of record letters meet carrier requirements.
- Process plan changes submitted by account executives, broker consultants, and brokers, including policy changes, endorsements, and other requests.
- Process new business applications, ensuring accurate and timely installation by the vendor.
- Maintain commission and client databases; create case files of critical client information according to workflow standards.
- Stay up to date on insurance regulations, carrier plan options, underwriting rules, and other value-added programs offered by Emerson Rogers.
- Receive guidance and support from team mentors.
- Participate in program trainings to build expertise for the Ancillary Broker Liaison role.
What We're Looking For:
- Associate’s degree required.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to take on significant responsibility.
