The Role:
As the Marketing Specialist Team Lead, you will oversee the operational activities of our regional marketing specialist department. In this pivotal role, you will actively market new prospective small commercial lines client accounts to carrier partners and provide essential support to our commercial line's sales leaders. Your leadership will ensure the team delivers exceptional service and drives business growth.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the full-cycle recruitment, management, and development of your assigned team, including monitoring workload, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Track team performance against service standards using KPIs, strategic initiatives, and resource utilization.
- Generate and review monthly reports to ensure timely handling of new business, post-binding activities, open items, and backlog.
- Collaborate with sales leaders and producers to understand and support prospects' insurance needs.
- Build and maintain strong carrier relationships while staying informed on market appetite.
- Conduct periodic quality audits to ensure accuracy in agency and document management systems.
- Provide technical expertise in onboarding new clients, supporting sales, account development, and issue resolution in alignment with company standards.
- Contribute insights and recommendations during strategy meetings.
- Support the full marketing cycle: develop submissions, negotiate terms, bind coverage, and execute client onboarding.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on market trends, pricing, underwriting policies, and our proprietary platform and solutions, including the stewardship process.
- Stay current on industry changes and assist with system testing as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- 7-10 years of experience in commercial property & casualty insurance, with a comprehensive understanding of coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
- 5+ years in marketing or placement preferred.
- College degree preferred.
- Prior management experience strongly preferred.
- Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license.
- Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, and CPCU are a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet-based tools; familiarity with Sagitta/ImageRight is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers, vendors, and internal teams.

Actual salary is dependent on skill set and experience, with an opportunity for a monthly incentive bonus, commissions, and equity program.
