General Description:

Personal Risk Services Training Specialist will be responsible for development, presentation and periodic updates of training for insurance related training software, tools and industry concepts in support of the USI Personal Risk Services team. Required to perform essential functions and meet service standards and Best Practices developed by USI.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Will function as part of the National Personal Risk Services - Sales and Operations team in support of growth and retention objectives of the USI Personal Risk Services Practice
  • Develop and present various training documents (PowerPoint Presentations, Brainsharks, etc.) and tools (e.g. user guides, recorded presentations, training deck) in support of all Personal Risk Services systems, procedures and general educational efforts
  • Develop and facilitate annual training calendar for Personal Risk Services to include regularly scheduled webinars
  • Design and develop document repository for Sales and Service related documents on USI's internal SharePoint sites. Maintain and monitor submissions made by others to the sites
  • Develop new and creative ways to deliver quality training to all employees
  • Act as scribe for various project meetings; prepare notes, document take-aways, prepare process documents and create tracking plans
  • Deliver webinar based training as well as on-site hands on training as needed
  • Facilitate and communicate with subject matter experts (SME) for areas of training where required to produce the assigned tools, documents and webinars
  • Communicate with SME and Managers to develop Train-the-Trainer processes
  • Participate on project teams in support of needed training efforts
  • Maintain updated training materials on the USI Intranet for employee reference
  • Manage and present training at a regional, operating company or acquisition level as assigned
  • Occasional travel to other USI offices will be required
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting company training initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Previous personal lines insurance agency experience with direct client contact preferred.
  • Experience with Vertafore product suite preferred (Sagitta/Worksmart).
 
  • Experience with Microsoft CRM and Sharepoint preferred.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate production of tools and materials.
  • Able to quickly asses and learn organizational roles, responsibilities and process flows.
  • Maintain an effective relationship with internal clients, team members and vendors.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
  • Previous experience coordinating training sessions and setting up training functions.
  • Must portray strong trainer leadership skills -- addressing the audience, describing nature of training, goals, step by step instructions and recap.
  • Proven experience gathering data from multiple sources to format training materials in PowerPoint decks, Brainsharks and technical documents.
  • BA/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with MS Office Suite and Adobe products.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to explain complex issues, receives and interprets complex information, and responds appropriately and interprets abstract information.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
  • Must be comfortable with internet based programs like SharePoint, Google, etc.
  • Must have excellent business writing or technical documentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to travel to various USI offices as required.

$65k-$75K plus 7.5% bonus
