General Description: Responsible for renewal and new business production activities. Support collaborative business relationships and elicit client understanding and insight to advise and make recommendations. Exercise discretion and use independent judgment to place insurance coverage.

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage or direct client accounts/relationships. Ensure retention and growth of book of business.
  • Contribute to new business development. Identify cross-sell opportunities and seek referrals from existing customers.  
  • Accountable for marketing for new and renewal submissions. Includes advising customers regarding renewals and recommending coverage products/risk control approaches.
  • Provide quotes for insurance coverage. Successfully place accounts on behalf of assigned producer.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with sales associates, underwriters, and insurance company representatives.
  • Provide technical support to account team. Includes analyzing coverage needs, binders, invoices, and quotations.
  • Handle complex insurance placements, often with little to no guidance from the producer.
  • Process notices of cancellation and endorsements.
  • Update and maintain appropriate agency management systems as required. 
  • Communicate with the broker regarding problems, complaints, or deadlines.
  • Maintain client files in the company’s document management system. 
  • Keep current with insurance products offerings and industry trends, including advantages and disadvantages.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must hold or will obtain Property & Casualty and/or appropriate business licensure. 
  • Desire to obtain knowledge of insurance coverages/products and marketing and sales skills.
  • Goal orientated. Must be personable and highly motivated to grow personal success.
  • Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills. 
  • A consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients, and associates.
  • Excellent listening skills with strong customer focus.
  • Ability to deal with senior level management and have a top-level executive presence.
