Compensation Consulting Director

Apply nowGeneral Description: Serve in a leadership role in the Human Capital practice. Identify business opportunities to provide compensation consulting services. Responsible for management of assigned Consultants.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for achieving practice revenue growth and profitability targets.
- Assist Practice Leader with team strategy, financial planning, and other internal initiatives.
- Lead and develop marketing and prospecting activities within USI’s target prospects and other organizations. Includes meetings, phone calls, webinars, request for proposals, and presentations.
- Develop confidence among clients and internal partners. Further the growth and development of key relationships.
- Responsible for full cycle recruitment, management, and development of assigned consultants.
- Speak at conferences, in-person events, and webinars. Share market trends and compensation best practices.
- Recommend USI service offerings to expand current clients’ services.
- Lead and participate in client/prospect team meetings to understand initiatives and needs.
- Independently develop proposals. Includes comprehensive work plans, detailed budgets, fee schedules, presentations, and reports.
- Regularly monitor the status of multiple projects. Ensure success of projects, including timeliness and within budget.
- Serve as subject matter expert on compensation programs. Proactively share knowledge with team.
- Oversee the development and implementation of tools, work product templates, processes, and methodologies to improve productivity and quality.
- Work with a variety of clients and projects in industries ranging from manufacturing to healthcare.
- Keep current on industry research, performance trends, benchmarks, and innovations.
- Mentor and train team members to develop a high performing team.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 10 years + experience in a compensation consulting environment or equivalent experience as a human resources or financial practitioner.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Advanced degree and professional certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated success in generating leads and presenting, promoting, and selling services to clients.
- Strong project management skills with experience leading multiple complex projects.
- Proven ability to develop client relationships and build a strong professional network.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex, technical concepts into easy-to-understand language.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
