The Business Intelligence Analyst will meet with multiple business stakeholders to capture requirements, design and synthesize datasets, build reports, perform ad-hoc analysis and prioritize projects based on business value and need. You will leverage a variety of technologies to continually improve the accuracy, usage and efficiency of our data and reporting processes. You will perform exploratory data analysis and provide insights to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
· Develop reports and dashboards for internal business partners.
· Perform data extraction, cleansing and wrangling on diverse data sets from internal and external sources. Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies.
· Primarily use Microsoft tools and languages: Power BI, Power Query, SQL, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), DAX. Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
· Communicate requirements and project progress to business leaders clearly and concisely. Provide insights through data visualizations.
· Manage project meetings, set expectations and resolve obstacles and issues with limited direction. Collaborate with fellow analysts to move projects forward quickly.
· Participate in the overall design of our Data and Reporting Architecture with focus on improving the overall report creation and usage experience for our internal business partners.
· Mentor fellow team members on Business Intelligence techniques and code.
· Provide constructive feedback (peer review) objects created by others on the team.
· Participate in the development, deployment and maintenance of data models.
· Develop policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data
· Create or discover new data procurement and processing programs
· Monitor analytics and metrics results
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field a plus.
· 2+ years’ practical experience with Power BI, DAX, SQL and data analytics.
· Strong communication skills. Ability to document requirements.
· Working knowledge of insurance brokerage or sales workflows and systems an asset.
· Must be able to manage multiple and rapidly changing, high visibility priorities and projects.
· Agile/Scrum project methodology experience a plus.
· Proven ability to manage expectations and outcomes with business leaders.
