Corporate Payroll Specialist

Apply nowGeneral Description: Responsible for assisting with processing payroll for over 10,000 employees. Working with a seasoned payroll team to support regular payroll activities and managing the Payroll shared inbox.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Payroll team in ensuring that payroll is processed timely and aligns with payroll procedures.
• Assist employees, managers, and HR with questions and issues includes pay discrepancies, pay practices, processes/procedures, tax compliance, and payroll related benefit questions via email or directly through the payroll hotline.
• Finalizing in the entry of new hires, rehires, and internal hires into our HRIS system, UKG.
• Create and review timecard reports bi-weekly to ensure accurate information prior to payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately, update timecards as required.
• Request stop payments/direct deposit reversals, and ACH tracers.
• Review any direct deposit return reports, follow-up with employees’ on updating their banking information, and reprocessing the direct deposit payment.
• Assist in processing manual checks when required based on federal, state, and local tax pay regulations/requirements.
• Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) practices. Provide documentation for all items entered when requested for audit purposes into the payroll shared drives.
• Conduct research and participate in special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• 5 years + of experience processing payroll.
• Ability to respond to common payroll inquiries from employees, management, and HR.
• Must have familiarity with multistate payroll tax.
• Working knowledge of local tax and employee level tax corrections.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization with shifting priorities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience with UKG payroll system and UTM preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and situations with discretion.
• Overtime may be required to fulfill the requirements of this position.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, bending, and typing.

• Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting/carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.
