General Description: The USI Insurance Services Personal Risk Practice provides comprehensive risk management and insurance consultation to high-net-worth individuals and family offices with complex financial and insurance needs. The PRS Select role is responsible for working alongside tenured Producers, providing new business sales support. This outside sales role is also responsible for establishing relationships as a trusted partner and advisor to clients and prospects. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Achieve new business sales goals on an annualized basis based on our target market.
  • Meet with prospects to understand their lifestyle, concerns, and unique insurance needs. Offer consultative, customized solutions tailored to their individual needs. 
  • Create and deliver professional presentations and proposals to internal and external clients and prospects. Illustrate the USI value proposition, industry trends, and customized insurance solutions.
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences utilizing a customized consultative selling approach, positioning the value and focus of the client service team and their ongoing stewardship of the programs. 
  • Identify and overcome sales obstacles on a prospect-specific basis.
  • Engage, introduce, and position value-added third-party subject matter experts in response to client needs.
  • Assist with preparation and editing of presentations, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Gain and develop knowledge of industry trends as well as advise and influence the development of innovative, bespoke solutions in response to client needs.
  • Successfully penetrate assigned prospect targets utilizing USI’s Engagement Platform.
  • Coordinate and positively represent USI in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events. 
  • Support cross-selling strategies for both new and existing clients.

Metrics:
  • $40k+ of annual referred business expected from Personal Risk Advisor partners.
  • Target $40k+ of annual business will be self-generated.
  • 3+ self-generated 1st appts per week.
  • 30+ self-generated outbound calls per week.
  • Below minimum floors of $20k of annual self-generated business and $5k quarterly, producers will be subject to Performance Improvement Plan.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 2 years + experience in personal insurance sales or service.
  • High School diploma or equivalent degree required. College degree preferred.
  • Personal lines insurance industry experience required.
  • Must hold a property-casualty license.
  • Ability to travel 50% or more of the time to meet with clients.
  • Personable, highly motivated, and goal oriented. Driven to achieve individual sales goals.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills. 
  • Strong customer service skills that can be applied to the sales process.
  • Strong knowledge of carriers and the personal insurance marketplace.
  • Good teamwork skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and commit to mutual objectives of the Personal Insurance Practice and Regional Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.

Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include driving, walking, sitting, standing, bending, and typing.

  • Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.
  • Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.
  • Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand, and bend. 
  • Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting/carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.
