Apply nowGeneral Description: Technical casualty specialist who assists account placement and service team members. Collaborates with colleagues on complex matters such as loss responsive programs, collateral negotiations, comparative policy wording analysis, benchmarking program cost components, and captive insurance. Utilizes USI and third-party analysis models to perform analytical functions. Presents findings to clients and prospects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and interprets casualty analysis
- Creates and explains output for ModMaster / Loss Forecaster / Advisen Benchmarking
- Reviews insurance programs (coverage, limits, deductibles, retentions, classifications, et al.), recommend improvements
- Negotiates with underwriters regarding coverage terms, conditions and pricing on new and renewal accounts
- Presents findings and proposals to existing and prospective clients
- Develops business relationships with retail producers and insurance markets
- Determines and communicates financial impact
- Creates quarterly/semi-annual/annual production of analysis deliverables as required for each account
- Creates and explains Total Cost of Risk (TCOR) to clients
- Deep understanding of our claim and loss control capabilities
- Promotes and enhances the reputation of USI with carriers and prospects
- Understands contractual risk transfer, hold harmless and indemnification provisions, and anti-indemnification statutes
- Assists producers in the sales process using Omni Solutions, writing casualty proposals

Knowledge, Skills, qualities and Abilities:
- Five or more years of experience in insurance brokering and / or underwriting, with technical experience in the Casualty segment
- Strong knowledge of property / casualty underwriting, coverages and conditions
- Ability to compose clear, concise, grammatically correct communications
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize, manage and process workflow in a timely manner
- Must be detail oriented
- Willingness to commit to a continuing education program and maintain a professional designation (CISR, CIC, CPCU, ARM, etc.)
- Captive insurance knowledge
- Maintaining a valid state insurance license
- A bachelor’s degree is required
