General Description: Responsible for managing and building a sales team for assigned Program. Develop sales and distribution plans to achieve or exceed department goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Programs producers in their daily sales activity including:
  • Coach and mentor producers on all aspects of the sales process. Includes product knowledge, value propositions, prospecting, cross-selling, closing techniques and sales messaging. Ensure personal and team attainment of annual production goals.
  • Supervise staff according to company policies and applicable laws. 
  • Recruit staff including interviewing and hiring.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; communicating vision. 
  • Performance management.
  • Develop and maintain department budget to ensure costs are within budget guidelines.
  • Ensure underwriting guidelines are being adhered to.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and workshops as necessary.
  • Assist in implementing marketing and business plans to support sales strategies.
  • Work with marketing team to develop and implement new lead generation strategies. 
  • Work with database team to further develop CRM and lead management systems.
  • Work with Underwriting and Operations team on process and sales issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 2 years + of sales and insurance industry experience. Outside sales and inside call-center environment required. 
  • Four-year College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience managing a team of inside and outside B to B sales associates. Call monitoring/KPI measuring preferred.
  • Must have a Property & Casualty license. 
  • Ability to develop strong knowledge of company’s product line and related insurance concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships. 
  • Excellent management, planning, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.  
  • Ability to manage all prospecting activity in sales tracking system.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
