General Description: This position would be the liaison for the development/resource and maintenance of carrier relationships for Commercial Middle Market and National clients.  Additionally, the candidate would have responsibilities for providing technical expertise and support to clients, service team and sales executives in the Sacramento USI office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage strategic carrier relationships and keep current of market trends
  • Technical expertise for all commercial property and casualty lines
  • Local expert for all verticals (Agriculture, construction, technology, real estate and risk management) in Rancho Cordova office  
  • Assist on an as needed basis with the marketing process for new and renewal business
  • Assist the sales teams to coordinate responses for Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Create and coordinate strategy, capabilities and stewardship meeting presentations
  • Make recommendations for program improvements (gaps in coverage)
  • Assess clients’ contractual liabilities and alignment with their insurance policies and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to understand client financial statements preferred
  • Support sales executives in providing data and proposals (including detailed marketing summary) for prospective/existing clients
  • Work with the Technical Resource Team for modeling
  • Responsible for complete and accurate documentation including real-time filing in ImageRight.
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 7+ years in Commercial Lines with underwriting and technical experience 
  • Comprehensive understanding of all property & casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license
  • Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks on middle market/national/risk management accounts  
  • Working knowledge of internet-based programs 
  • Knowledge of agency management systems and ImageRight preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of products
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction 
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate work 
  • Ability to maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

Physical Demands: Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, and bending.

Work Requirements: Hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days in the office.
