General description: The Web Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of a broad spectrum of websites and interactive marketing initiatives that support USI Affinity's overall online presence including assisting in the design and execution of website from site mockups to finished front-end code (HTML/CSS/Javascript/XML/Flash), participating in collaborative design, working closely with our IT developers, creating visually appealing and user interface centric conceptual designs and staying current of new web design technologies. This position will maintain, and assist in conceptualizing, designing/implementing web pages, advertisements, marketing material and other electronic based products.


  • Creating website, micro site and landing page designs, email blasts, banner ads, flash elements and overall design elements of all online properties to expose USI Affinity's audience to our product that will result in revenue generation and are to ensure compliant with carrier, client and industry regulations
  • Maintaining existing websites to ensure sites are up-to-date and compliant with carrier, client and industry regulations using our content management system
  • Preparing images and graphics for print and online distribution using Photoshop to ensure they meet brand standards
  • Generate analytics reports and propose strategies to improve metrics

  • High School degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and strong experience (est. 3+ years) as a web designer/developer.

Language Ability -- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical

REASONING ABILITY - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


  • Experience using a content management system is required (such as Vertex, Wordpress, Hubspot, .netnuke, umbraco or joomla!)
  • A competent understanding of semantic markup and CSS / XHTML standards, cross-browser compatibility. Experience with debugging tools.
  • Experience with jQuery, XML and Javascript and their use in interface design.
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Google Analytics required.
  • Experience with Flash and ActionScripts is helpful.
  • Experience with Usability testing methods and accessibility principles is preferred



  • Solid design skills including Web Page layout, image selection, Ad banner creation, typography and use of color.
  • Experience working on and creating design templates for content management systems.
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization techniques is preferred.
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to research and provide various solutions.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure projects run efficiently from beginning to end.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize is required.

Travel (if applicable) - This position requires 0% travel. Must be able to travel on all forms of transportation.
