Job Description – Exempt



This individual must have the ability to underwrite insurance coverages and be accountable for production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·       Examines such documents as application forms, inspection reports, loss runs, financial reports, or any other information needed to determine the degree of risk from such factors as applicants financial standing, occupation, claims experience, and value and condition of property.

·       Maintains a production source contact.

·       Maintains contact with company underwriters.

·       Prepares worksheets.

·       Prepares coverage issuance instructions.

·       Prepares or reviews and signs off on prepared quotations and binders.

·       Issues requests for additional information.

·       Maintains files.

·       Obtain and maintain production levels established by branch or division manager.

·       Reports to department manager and follows general advice as provided.

·       Must make collection calls.


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or minimum of three years  experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have extensive knowledge of insurance coverages/contracts being underwritten.
