Wholesale Inside Underwriting Leader

General Descriptions: Responsible for the initial development and start-up of the inside underwriting team, will be managing a team of Wholesale Inside Underwriters and critical market relationships. Manage margins to align with company goals. 

Responsibilities: 
Responsible for full-cycle management and development of the Program Advisor team. 
Identify, plan, and resolve routine department coverage and workload issues. 
Provide management oversight and profit & loss responsibility for wholesale inside underwriting team.
Underwrite and analyze new and renewal accounts for the most complex assignments.
Serve as the senior subject matter expert in assessing risks. Determine the appropriate market, price, coverage, terms and conditions. If appropriate, orders, and evaluates additional risk assessment information.
Establish underwriting policy and procedures. Provide reports to management. 
Develop strong business relationships with external carrier partners and internal resources.   
Recommend authority levels for underwriting staff and amendments/enhancements.  Includes policy forms, premium rate plans, underwriting guidelines, loss control guidelines, and distribution. 
Engage in professional development and relevant industry training. 
May require travel between offices to meet with leaders and team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
5+ years of Property and Casualty insurance experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
2+ years of management experience. 
Property and Casualty license required, CPCU designation preferred.
Proficient in MS Office suite of products.
Ability to lead and implement strategic business initiatives, marketing strategies, and campaigns.  
Ability to provide market intelligence, consultation, and client-specific assistance to inside producers.
