Centralized Support Services Team Leader 

Job Description - Exempt


This position is for an individual who has demonstrated a superior understanding of the knowledge behind underwriting and has a broad knowledge of the Commercial insurance industry and able to translate this into day-to-day supervisory skills and oversight of a team.  This individual will be responsible for maintaining standard operating procedures (SOP’s), training, workload distribution, reporting, and special projects for CSS.  The CSS Team Leader will assist in the development of KPI’s for the team to improve internal customer service, meet deadline criteria and confirm overall team performance. The CSS Team Leader will supervise and work within the team on quoting, binding, invoicing, and endorsements.  The individual exercises discretion and independent judgment and understands that the main objective is to provide internal support to Brokers and Underwriters to increase production while reducing potential E&O exposure. This role will have a balance of supervisory tasks and individual production within the CSS Team.


Interview/recruit potential candidates for CSS

Handles all CSS training

Maintains SOP’s for CSS Team

Create KPI’s

Processes month end reporting for Accounting

Maintains suspense system for documentation follow-up and charge backs

Communicates all problems, complaints or inquiries to VP of Operations

Oversees file maintenance

Prepares quotes and reviews with internal Producers

Prepares binders and invoices

Issues notices of cancellation

Issues endorsements and cancellations

Reconciles Accounting past due reports as requested

Processes new business submissions 

Handles renewal setup and solicitations

Handles policy mail outs as requested

Order Loss Runs

Oversee/handle special assignments

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have a thorough knowledge of Commercial Lines Insurance including applications, quotes, binders, endorsements, and coverages both for admitted and non-admitted risks.

Prior Supervisory experience required with teams of 4 or more persons

P&C license required at the time of hire
