General Description: Performs Workers' Compensation underwriting, quoting and customer service for assigned Self Insurance Groups. Duties include workers' compensation quoting, processing of audits and endorsements, policy issuance, certificate issuance and information reporting to various industry organizations. Also provides timely responses to policyholders' questions and requests and provides resolution to policy problems and/or issues. Participates in SIG quarterly and annual board meetings as required. Works with a variety of staff including senior management, claims, finance and marketing to ensure a positive customer experience. 


Responsibilities:

  • Underwrites prospects to determine whether business is a good risk for the organization and should be covered by the self-insurance group.
  • Takes ownership of customer concerns and resolves customer issues.
  • Performs Workers' Compensation underwriting, quoting, processing of audits and endorsements, policy issuance, certificate issuance, billing and information reporting to various industry organizations.
  • Receives, researches and answers inquiries and requests regarding accounts, coverage, products, rates, billing and services for both internal and external clients.
    • Communicates with carriers, producers and marketing on prospects and existing accounts.
    • Participates in self-insurance group quarterly and annual board meetings and provides required Information for quarterly reports
    • Works with state agencies on necessary filings.
    • Maintain various databases and spreadsheets

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience Workers' Compensation.
  • Licensed a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Must have a capacity for analytical thinking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt and multi task to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
