Description and Requirements

General Description:  We're looking for an insurance professional with strong Property & Casualty expertise and a solid understanding of data. This role is ideal for someone coming from the business side of insurance who is tech-savvy and eager to transition into a more data-focused career. As part of the Data Science team, you'll collaborate with other groups and business users to drive insights and innovation in the insurance space.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison between business users and the IT team.
  • Research problems and plan solutions. Recommend software and system changes. Coordinate development to meet business requirements.
  • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with line of business leaders.
  • Develop business cases and financial model systems enhancements.
  • Transform user requests into business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Produce business requirements documents.
  • Develop/Edit Python programs that implement and test business requirements.
  • Work with business leaders to implement projects and applications changes.
  • Manage system conversion activities including data mapping, system configuration, data analysis.
  • Ensure that projects and systems are delivered to end user satisfaction.
  • Define and document "as is" and "to be" workflows and review with LOB leaders
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that allocates the resources to the activities
  • Execute the project according to the project plan
  • Manage accountability of tasks for project members
  • Set up and maintain project plans, issue logs, and tasks in a system of record
  • ·       Interface with vendors to ensure vendor compliance to contractual agreements

Cyber Security Job Responsibilities:

  • ·       Configure, develop, design, architect, implement, acquire, and operate systems in accordance with:
    • o   USI Policies for the Information Security Program (PISP)
    • o   USI Standards for the Information Security Program (SISP)
  • ·       Keep up to date with security updates and improvements to safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
  • ·       Protect systems against damage, changes, or illegal access by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • ·       Implement security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • ·       Upgrade systems by implementing and maintaining security and technical controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·       3-5 years P&C or EB insurance experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

·       1+ year experience with Python programming preferred.

·       Team orientation and hands-on approach.

·       Able to manage multiple and rapidly changing, high visibility priorities and projects.

Salary Range:  $80,000- $95,000.  This is a bonus eligible position with a target incentive of 8%.
