Surplus Lines Coordinator

Responsible for surplus lines tax reporting support of the organization with, data analysis, document organization and compliance related tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate agent/agency compliance with state surplus lines rules
- Provide assistance to national surplus lines agents
- Submit required documents to states to facilitate timely filings
- Coordinate zero reporting for employees
- Reviewing A/P to ensure prompt filing of policies
- Distribution of shared team email and mail
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- College degree preferred
- Prefer one year work experience in the insurance industry – ideally with surplus lines
- Prefer experience with Sagitta (Vertafore), ImageRight, and state based filing systems
- Strong desire to learn and foster a community of compliance
- Has or is willing to obtain P&C Insurance license within one year
- Knowledge of insurance industry and risk management a plus
- Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data
- Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations policies and procedures
- Ability to prepare reports
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities independently
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Very strong detail skills
- Proficiency with all MS Office applications – specifically intermediate Excel experience
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing, bending and typing.
