The Defined Contributions (DC) Recordkeeping Analyst position is an experienced analyst position in the Defined Contribution Recordkeeping & Administration department providing daily administration and consulting services for clients’ 401(k)/retirement plans.  This is a career-track position that provides the opportunity to learn about the design, operations and regulations governing defined contribution retirement plans, potentially leading to a senior consultant role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing 401(k) recordkeeping functions/transactions with a high degree of accuracy and within established deadlines
  • Census updates and address changes
  • Processing morning, late day, and trustee system routines
  • Process and validate plan transactions, including distributions, loans, payrolls/contributions, earnings allocations. fees
  • Answering client and participant questions on routine transactions (live operator call center)
  • Reconciling daily cash for each plan
  • Prepare client reports and participant statements
  • Learning technical rules for plans and applying them to daily work to ensure plans are compliant with ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations, and the plan document
  • Meeting department, plan and regulatory deadlines
  • Proactively communicating with senior administrators, trustees, and clients to resolve processing issues
  • Other duties as assigned including Form 5500 government filings, vesting updates and nondiscrimination testing

Specific/Individual Core Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of finance and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with an emphasis on problem solving
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and in use of required processing software/systems
  • Capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines with the highest degree of accuracy
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while also exhibiting a strong team approach to managing and developing relationships


  • Previous work experience in retirement/employee benefits, financial services, accounting, or a related field is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance or a related field is preferred
