General Description:  Corporate Staff Accountant will be responsible for deliverables in the Corporate Accounting team. The roles and responsibilities consist of assisting in the monthly and quarterly reviews of legal expenditures, bonus accruals, understanding of reserves and benefits, stock-based compensation, and overall account reconciliations.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Complete weekly review of legal invoices and perform coding for payment.
  • Assist with preparation of legal analysis and participate in monthly meeting with USI General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel.
  • Work with Regional RFO’s and Analysts on communication of legal expenses and accruals.
  • Assist with the monthly reconciliation of benefits liability for the entire company.
  • Perform monthly analysis of corporate expenses to ensure reasonableness and understand variances from prior month and prior year.
  • Understand and prepare monthly balance account reconciliations and validate that the balances are complete and accurate.
  • Preparation of stock-based compensation entries with assistance by Corporate Accounting Manager
  • Monthly review of bonus accruals and applicable adjustments if necessary, based on the review with Corporate manager.
  • Assist with leading quarterly balance sheet reviews with regional CFO’s with the objective of verifying the accuracy and validity of regional information.
  • Participate in the analysis of regional revenues and trends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • One to two years of financial experience preferred
  • Experience with account reconciliations preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and adherence to strict deadlines
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, team player
  • Intermediate Excel skills required
  • SAP knowledge a plus
  • Overall understanding of corporate accounts and

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier and scanners. Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing, bending and typing.
