General Description: The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will support new system initiative efforts, and work with the business to define systems capabilities (custom or purchased) to enable the business to grow. This position has a focus on the financial impact of the new system initiative efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Research problems, plan solutions, recommend software and system changes, and coordinate development to meet business requirements.
  • Act as liaison between business users and the IT team.
    Develop business cases, cost analysis and project plans for systems enhancements.
  • Transform user requests into business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Interact with customers to learn and document requirements that are then used to produce business requirements documents.
  • Define business and systems requirements.
  • Develop test plans and test cases.
  • Manage system testing and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) in insurance sales workflows and applications.
  • Work with business leaders to implement projects and applications changes.
  • Manage system conversion activities related to acquisitions.
  • Interface with business leaders as well as the Infrastructure and Applications Groups to ensure that projects and systems are delivered to end user satisfaction.
  • Interface directly with vendors to ensure vendor compliance to contractual agreements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 4 year degree or equivalent.
    5-7 years IT and/or systems experience.
  • Have a working knowledge of Accounting principles.
  • Must have Sagitta experience to understand financials.
  • Working knowledge of Accounting workflows and financial reporting transaction in the insurance industry required.
  • Project management experience.
  • Familiarity with of programming and SQL a plus.
  • Experience with insurance and sales applications and workflows a plus.
  • Team orientation and hands-on approach.
  • Must be able to manage multiple and rapidly changing, high visibility priorities and projects.
