General Description:  Responsible for supporting data and reporting business needs in a structured environment using Microsoft’s BI stack tools (SQL Server Reporting Services / SSRS, SQL Server Integration Services / SSIS, SQL Server Analysis Services / SSAS).

Responsibilities:

·        Research and resolve moderate to complex data issues using SQL.

·        Understand Data warehousing methodologies and data modeling.

·        Monitor, support, enhance, and/or create new ETL nightly SQL jobs and/or SSIS packages.

·        Support, enhance, and/or create new SSAS cubes.

·        Assist with support, enhancement, and/or creation of new SSRS reports.

·        Performance tune moderate to complex database objects and/or SQL statements.

·        Plan, process, and perform all jobs in an efficient manner focusing on quality.

·        Work with Team members and Business units to get clarification on requests, resolve issues, and deliver code in a timely manner.

·        Responding promptly and professionally to bug reports.

·        Work with Excel data sources, connections, and Power Query to support business units.

·        Create technical documentation and format/document code for readability purposes.

·        Manage code in source control software.

·        Ensure data is handled in a secure manner.

·        Write periodic project status reports for management and/or maintain updates in development workflow tools.

·        Ensure performance and operational reliability of applications.

·        Ensure data integrity and security of applications.

·        Collaborate on the engineering and architecture of custom software solutions.

·        Create modules, patterns, or frameworks to solve complex business issues.

·        Collaborate on enterprise coding standards and drive process improvements.

·        Develop client displays and user interfaces.

·        Identify and handle technical risks and issues.

·        Provide estimates for development efforts.

·        Break down stories into tasks and report on progress.

·        Take part in code reviews and provide a positive environment for feedback and new ideas.

·        Prototype end to end solutions for new technologies being implemented. Identify roadblocks and alternate solutions early in the process.

·        Keep the application stack current – remediate technical debt.

·        Provide progress updates, identify risks, and offer solutions.

·        Create documentation of designs and solutions.

·        Perform thorough unit testing.

Cyber Security Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure, develop, design, architect, implement, acquire, and operate systems in accordance with:
    • USI Policies for the Information Security Program (PISP)
    • USI Standards for the Information Security Program (SISP)
  • Keep up to date with security updates and improvements to safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
  • Protect systems against damage, changes, or illegal access by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Implement security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Upgrade systems by implementing and maintaining security and technical controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·        Expert level understanding of SQL Server Integration, Analysis and Reporting Services (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS).

·        5+ years of SQL Server Integration Services experience

·        3+ years of database design and data modeling

·        3+ years of SQL Server Analysis Services experience

·        2+ years of SQL Server Reporting Services experience

·        Ability to read, understand, and write complex SQL queries and data structures.

·        Proficient with Excel data sources, connections, and Power Query.

  • Strong organizational skills, analytical ability, detail orientation, communication skills and work-ethic required.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage/drive multiple projects to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
  • Possess a positive attitude and ability to think creatively.
  • Experience with GIT and Azure DevOps a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodology a plus.

·        Experience with commission data or sales applications and workflows a plus.

·        Experience with PowerBI a plus.

·        Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills.

·        Ability to travel up to 20% of time

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, Computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing and bending.

Salary Range:  $115,000- $130,000.  This is a bonus eligible position with a target incentive of 10%.
