General Description: The Senior Internal Broker Specialist is responsible for managing large and/or complex middle market Commercial Lines wholesale insurance accounts submitted through the internal distribution channel. This role involves marketing, quoting, and binding new and renewal business, responding to inquiries and coverage reviews, and ensuring appropriate placement through accessible wholesale brokerage markets.
Responsibilities:
Market, quote, and bind new and renewal business directed to the internal wholesale distribution team.
Identify appropriate markets, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for internal retail clients.
Evaluate quotes and contract provisions from insurance carriers and present pricing and coverage terms.
Process insurance submissions, bind coverage, issue invoices, and facilitate policy issuance.
Address and resolve issues related to policy placement and coverage.
Build and maintain productive relationships with internal retail teams and insurance carriers.
Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance policies, coverage options, and exclusions.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of data within agency management systems.
Participate in ongoing professional development and industry training.
Stay informed on industry trends, insurance products, technology, and market conditions.
Ensure all transactions comply with relevant insurance regulations and company guidelines.
Communicate effectively with retail brokers and insurance carriers to ensure smooth and timely transactions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
7+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience.
5+ years of brokerage experience.
High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
For direct client service/underwriting, Property & Casualty and/or appropriate business licensure is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Proven ability to meet performance and revenue targets.
Ability to provide market intelligence, consultation, and tailored support to inside sales associates.
Strong customer relationship management, sales acumen, and negotiation skills to drive results.
