General Description: 
The Senior Consultant will lead and execute various compensation consulting projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead a variety of compensation related projects, including executive, broad-based employee, and sales compensation projects.

This is an opportunity to work with a variety of clients and projects in industries ranging from manufacturing to healthcare. The role will work independently and will need to demonstrate strong thought leadership and the ability to effectively communicate best practices. Responsibilities:

  • Leading and participating in appropriate client/prospect team meetings to understand the client/prospect initiatives and needs.
  • Drafting comprehensive work plans, detailed budgets and fee schedules, presentations, and reports.
  • Managing complex projects within established budgets and regularly monitoring the success of projects and keeping timeline, quality, and deliverables on track.
  • Overseeing the development of project deliverables by consultants, reviewing for technical accuracy, quality, completeness, timeliness, and use of appropriate language.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for consultants; proactively sharing knowledge and training and developing consultants.
  • Managing team productivity to ensure a high level of utilization of consultant resources, including prioritizing work and delegating project tasks, as appropriate, to analysts and consultants based on skill sets, efficiency, available time, and project deadlines.
  • Effectively keeping the practice leader and client relationship managers apprised of project status, including delays or potential problems, holding self and team members accountable for client deadlines and deliverables.
  • Acting as a key client liaison, including building client relationships by responding to client questions, attending client meetings, and being proactive in anticipating client needs.
  • Developing and implementing tools, work product templates, processes and methodologies that will improve productivity and quality.
  • Participating in and contributing to the successful marketing and prospecting activities with USI target prospects and other organizations.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·     Minimum of bachelor’s degree with a preference for business or related field

·     Five or more years of experience in a compensation consulting environment or equivalent experience as a human resources practitioner specializing in compensation

·     Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred

·     Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills

·     Strong written and verbal communication skills

·     Project management experience

·     Proficient in business technology tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)

·     Ability to lead teams and deliver independent work products
