Sr. Account Executive - Medical Malpractice Insurance

Apply nowGENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Manage large and complex Medical Malpractice accounts for podiatrist and physicians. Direct, Broker, Program and Non-Program business with average premium of $35k-150k. Responsible for providing excellent customer service and leadership to accounts. as well as represent client and or broker needs and goals to ensure we keep their business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage or direct client accounts/relationships to ensure retention and growth of book.
- Identify problems, client needs and exposures. Counsel clients/brokers on appropriate coverage and provide cautionary advice.
- Negotiate terms of policies with underwriters. Act as an advocate for clients/brokers.
- Identify specialty markets for hard to place accounts. Determine proper placement and terms and manage the application process.
- Retain and develop existing client accounts from assigned book of business.
- Send quotes and provide documentation. Includes delivery of applications, supplements, coverage confirmation, certificates and policies to insureds/brokers.
- Cross sell, round accounts and refer new business opportunities.
- Use internal tasking system to communicate with underwriters and other account executives.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivables as needed.
- Conduct in person visits with clients, as needed.
- May train or mentor more junior account executives.
- Support new business producer to market, quote and bind the account.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven track record in Medical Malpractice insurance sales and/or service. Medical Malpractice insurance experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, college degree preferred.
- Strong customer service experience by phone/email required.
- Strong insurance industry experience servicing professional service accounts.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products. Including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. Ability to learn additional platforms.
- Develop proficiency in using policy writing system after initial training.
- Must have active Property and Casualty license.
- Sales and customer service orientation required.
- Strong verbal and written professional communication required
- Able to develop and maintain strong business relationships. As well as the ability to deal with difficult or sensitive situations.
- Must have excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to multi-task
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
- Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
