SPECIALTY CLAIMS ADJUSTER – SAFEHOLD SPECIAL RISK

This position is an absolutely unique opportunity for a claims/legal professional that would love to be on the job and on the slopes all at the same time! Safehold Special Risk Ski Resorts Program serves the insurance needs of the ski industry throughout the United States, including the Northwest, Rocky Mountains, and New England,

Safehold has over 50 years of experience and in-depth knowledge in the ski industry and we provide insurance programs to over 200 resorts across the nation. Our specialties include property and casualty products, employee benefits, and risk management solutions specific to the ski industry.

Responsible for handling ski, auto, property, and general liability claims within the authority granted under the specific program agreement. 

Duties include:

  • Inspecting losses for adjustment parameters,
  • Reviewing claims,
  • Meeting with clients,
  • Attending depositions, mediations and trials,
  • Retaining and monitoring activity of outside adjusters/appraisers and other experts as needed.  Communicating with management and sales team on larger, more complex claims.
  • Investigates, evaluates and negotiates resolution of the most complex claims in accordance with company guidelines and best claims practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of general liability insurance claim experience, specialty claims insurance adjustor experience, or a combination of both or strong paralegal background.
  • Ability to ski at the advanced level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of working with specialty and general liability claims within the authority granted under specific program agreement
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to handle larger and more complex claims
  • Ability to travel in general and particularly during the active ski season
