As a Senior Analyst in Consulting Solutions, this position will work closely with consultants to support clients in project management and delivering work for retirement plans, primarily defined contribution plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze data using spreadsheets and databases
- Complete annual compliance testing related to retirement plans
- Evaluate client situations and processes and recommend solutions to consultants
- Act as the primary contact for our clients with regard to day-to-day operations; understanding their needs and managing expectations.
- Answer questions from clients, participants, partners, and coworkers.
- Proactively anticipate clients’ needs, identify complex issues for clients, and recommend solutions and/or escalate issues to consultants.
- Learn the plan provisions for each client and understand the technical rules that govern plans to ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and the plan document.
- Follow established procedures in servicing clients, in order to complete routine work efficiently and manage risk.
- Perform complex tasks and problem-solving under minimal supervision.
- Research and develop strategies to support resolution of client issues / questions
- Assist with projects by planning and managing project milestones
- Prepare client reports and communicate results to client
- Utilize technology (Access, Excel, SQL) to analyze data, identify and isolate data issues, and automate solutions
- Attain individual billing plan and realization goals by managing projects efficiently and seeking additional projects
Specific/Individual Core Competencies:
· Understanding of retirement plan designs, current trends, and regulatory issues preferred
· Proficiency with coverage and non-discrimination testing under 410(b) and 401(a)(4) preferred
· Ability to read and interpret plan documents and adoption agreements
· Advanced skill level using business technology tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
· Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities while meeting deadlines
· Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
· Engaging, outgoing and team-oriented
· Personable and professional approach to other associates and clients
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
· 3+ years of experience in a retirement plans consulting environment; benefits or human resources consultancy preferred
· ASPPA and or CEBS designations/exams preferred
