Senior Accountant (Hybrid in Office)

Apply nowGeneral Description: The Senior Corporate Accountant will work closely with the Corporate Accounting Manager, Accounting Center and Corporate Finance Staff to identify and resolve accounting issues and identify opportunities for efficiencies or improvements.
Responsibilities (include but not exclusive to the following):
- Provide oversight over Corporate balance sheet accounts and obtain detailed understand of transactions and balances on a monthly basis.
- Work with the legal department on analysis of contingency reserves, legal expenses and case analysis and prepare monthly presentation for Chief legal counsel.
- Work with Human Resources department on corporate bonus process and assist with the preparation of quarterly package of compensation related materials.
- Assist in the review, update and analysis of the Company’s deferred compensation plan.
- Understand all company level insurance policies and ensure that accounting is accurate and correct, and policies are in force and properly updated.
- Work on the monthly accounting for various Stock Compensation plans including restricted stock grants and options.
- Provide Regional CFO’s and analysts with legal expense forecast on a monthly basis.
- Prepare analyses of complex accounting transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, stock-based compensation, intangible assets and impairment, derivatives.
- Work with Corporate Controller in lease abandonment accounting and legal reserve analysis.
- Participate in the preparation and issuance of the Company's quarterly and annual external reports including footnote disclosure.
- Assist Corporate Accounting on all account reconciliation and reports to ensure that reconciling items are accounted for properly. Work closely with the Accounts Payable Department to process payments of corporate invoices on a timely basis.
- Assist with implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in the area of legal and stock compensation.
- Assist with accounting for self insured employee benefits plan accounting as well as other benefits on a monthly basis.
- Assist in support for quarterly reviews and annual audits of consolidated financial statements by external auditors.
- Provide detailed analysis of financial performance including actual vs prior year to include the income statement, balance sheet for all corporate accounts.
- Document testing of SOX key controls and documentation including narratives and RCMs.
- Perform special projects and duties as requested, including ad-hoc analysis in support of Corporate Accounting Manager and Controller.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- /BA degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA / MBA a plus
- At least 7+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
- Advanced MS Excel skills preferred
- Strong MS PowerPoint development skills and ability to design and execute high-impact presentations
- Must be thorough, organized, possess strong attention to detail and have strong follow through skills
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and assist in implementation of new processes and procedures
- Demonstrated experience in MS Excel data modeling
- Strong ability in financial analysis
- Ability to understand and learn how to apply accounting principles under GAAP and IFRS
- Ability to multitask in a fast moving environment
- Self motivated team player
- Ability to oversee staff, as required
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Superior analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects through completion

Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing, bending and fingering.
Analysis of Physical Demands:
