General Description:  Strategically collaborate with our Select Practice Leader on new Commercial Lines business while managing your own book of our largest Select Commercial Lines accounts. Activities include new and renewal marketing, fielding questions and requests and coverage review. Support USI sales process with prospect and new client meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned Select Commercial Lines clients.
  • Make recommendations for client insurance programs based on USI’s proprietary solution set. Provide advanced technical expertise to clients and prospects.
  • Support sales and cross-selling opportunities. Accompany Producer and Practice Leaders to meet with prospective clients.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day account management of the larger Select accounts.
  • Mentor more junior members of the Select Commercial Lines team.
  • Respond to customer requests for information, documents, and general insurance inquiries within agreed upon timeframes
  • Manage client renewal expirations and avoid any lapse in coverage.
  • Responsible for marketing and placement of client insurance renewals.
  • Determine most-appropriate carriers for market pricing.
  • Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
  • Make insurance program recommendations to clients.
  • Develop strong relationships with insurance carriers to negotiate on clients behalf
  • Support USI in ensuring client adherence to invoicing and payment policy.
  • Manage client account in accordance with USI guidelines and key performance indicators.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ years experience in a Commercial Lines agency. College degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Must hold Property & Casualty insurance license.
  • Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.
  • Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Sagitta / ImageRight preferred, but not required.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction. Set and manage priorities effectively.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.   
 

Physical Demands


Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins.  Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, Computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine.  Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing and bending.


Analysis of Physical Demands:

·         Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.

·         Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand and bend.

·         Occasionally (1%-33% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.

·         Rarely  (< than 1 hour per week) work performed  requires Lifting/Carrying  items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling  items that range from 10-50lbs,  twisting/ turning including reaching over shoulder or above head , kneeling or squatting.
