General Description:

The Renewal Specialist is responsible for processing renewal plan changes and day-to-day quoting of renewals in support of our Broker Consultants, Account Executives and Brokers.


  • Field specific questions from Brokers regarding plan options and coverage.
  • Assist Account Executives, Broker Consultants and Brokers in quoting renewal alternatives.
  • Process plan changes submitted by Account Executives, Broker Consultants and Brokers.
  • Provide follow-up communication and approvals for Brokers on plan changes and open enrollment issues.
  • Download renewal copies from carrier websites to Emerson Reid (ER) shared drive and forward all net pay carriers to appropriate Brokers.
  • Coordinate efforts with team members, especially at month end to facilitate plan changes and ensure quality and turn-around times meet ER standards.
  • Strive to stay up-to-date with insurance regulations, carrier plan options, underwriting rules and other value added programs offered by ER to the Brokers.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all staff.

  • High School Diploma or GED degree required; Bachelor's degree a plus
  • Life, Accident & Health license within six months of employment
