General Description: The Real Estate Transaction Manager is responsible for real estate portfolio planning for assigned business divisions and functions. This responsibility includes transaction management, lease management and internal policy compliance related to the assigned portfolios. The individual will work proactively with assigned Division leadership as well as with key corporate functions (Finance, Legal, IT, Security, HR) to understand their business requirements. Review real estate documents and negotiate changes to align with corporate standards. Identify opportunities where Corporate Real Estate initiatives can add value, and work collaboratively to develop specific implementation plans.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop internal network necessary to identify global real estate requirements
  • Implement acquisition and disposition strategies, processes and standards to meet business requirements in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Negotiate business terms and legal documents relating to the acquisition and disposition of real estate assets
  • Work with external legal counsel for various transactions
  • Manage internal customer expectations regarding service, quality and cost effectiveness; resolve internal and external conflicts as necessary
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A degree of cultural awareness and demonstrated experience working with and understanding various cultures.
  • Ability to analyze problems and opportunities, conclude direction and make critical decisions. Balance numerous short-term and long-term responsibilities, including prioritizing same on a day-to-day basis.
  • High integrity and ethics in all dealings -- internal, external, and personal.
  • Quick learner, trusted advisor, able to manage multiple priorities, and extremely clear communicator.
  • Willingness and capability to travel domestically 35% of the time and to work on various projects in multiple locations.
  • 5 or more years of practice preferred.
  • Experience with real estate negotiations.
  • Experience with environmental matters in real estate leases.
  • Experience reviewing lease agreement.
  • Demonstrated leadership, self-management, and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to manage, review, and approve a large volume of transactions simultaneously
  • Proven record of providing exceptional internal and external customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and reflect a sense of urgency by meeting or exceeding deadlines
