Apply nowGeneral Description: The Retirement Plan Services Plan Analyst supports the Consultant and functions as the primary day-to-day contact for Retirement Plan clients.
Responsibilities:
· Support Consultant by maintaining the client relationship in a proactive manner.
· Act as the day to day contact for both large and small retirement plan clients; answer questions about plan operations and administration.
· Assist clients with keeping their plan(s) compliant with ERISA provide information and technical assistance to keep clients informed of industry requirements, changes and trends.
· Assist clients with operating their plans at the optimal efficiency level.
· Research and resolve processing and miscellaneous administrative or billing issues with client and internal team members.
· Prepare reporting packages in a timely manner; understand and review plan and participant-level reports.
· Create draft of annual filings; i.e. Forms 5500 8955 and any necessary Form 5330 filings.
· Draft annual notices for Consultant review, deliver to client contact for distribution.
· Create and maintain electronic versions of enrollment kits and notices for each retirement plan.
· Complete quarterly review of all client plans, including census, eligibility, participant loans and distributions.
· Perform coverage and nondiscrimination tests for Consultant review, and direct corrective actions.
· Understand other plan issues such as minimum required distributions, hardship distributions, QDROs, joint and survivor requirements, compensation, benefits and contribution limits.
· Create daily-valued and balance-forward valuations for Consultant review, including reconciliation of assets to trust statement, calculation and allocation of contributions, , and reallocation of forfeitures.
· Participate in peer review to ensure accuracy of all deliverables.
· Perform calculation and review of RMDs, QDRO splits, and determine participant account vesting levels.
· Maintain plan-specific information and records in internal databases and departmental files, following procedures for archiving of documents.
· Interpret fee schedules and complete quarterly invoicing.
· Serve as back-up for Participant Call Center.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· College degree preferred. 2-3 years current experience in Defined Contribution Administration preferred. Prefer experience with Schwab Retirement Technology.
· High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word for Windows and databases.
· Establish effective working relationships with Clients, Internal Partners, and Vendors.
· Working knowledge of daily-valued and balance forward valuations and plan documents and implications of plan provisions. Ability to read and understand plan documents.
· Working knowledge of pension laws and IRS regulations; ability to research compliance issues.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills.
