Job Description:  As a Project Manager on the IT Project Management Office team you will play a critical role in supporting new and existing system initiative efforts. You will work with key business partners to define systems capabilities (custom or purchased) to enable our business to grow and become more productive. You will be responsible for managing a variety of mid to large projects across the entire project lifecycle.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare project plans in accordance with stakeholder requirements and timelines
  • Engage project teams from IT, Operations, and Development teams in specific project tasks
  • Research problems, plan solutions, recommend system changes, and coordinate development to meet business requirements
  • Act as liaison between IT, Operations, Development- both onshore and offshore, and line of business leaders
  • Manage development of business cases, cost analysis, and project plans for system development, system enhancements, and/or upgrades
  • Work with the line of business leaders to identify opportunities for improvements to top line growth or bottom-line cost savings 
  • Transform user requests into business requirements and technical specifications
  • Interact with customers to learn and document workflows and requirements that are then used to produce business requirements documents
  • Evaluate alternative solutions for meeting business requirements and recommend best fit solutions
  • Develop test plans and test cases and manage system testing and coordination of User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Develop and manage detailed project and work plans, hold project meetings and resolve obstacles and issues with limited direction
  • Manage development projects for new software development and implementation
  • Interface with business leaders as well as the IT infrastructure and applications Groups to ensure that projects and systems are delivered to end user satisfaction
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Track project costs in order to meet budget
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert and consultant with Business partners related to technology project requests
  • Ability to predict and suggest potential development where applicable for the P&C industry

Preferred skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of insurance brokerage with service or sales workflows and systems
  • Working knowledge of insurance service lifecycle and tasks
  • Working knowledge of Vertafore suite of products a plus
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet a plus
  • Experience with Agile methodology a plus
