General Description: Responsible for retaining a significant program specific book of business and ensuring service needs are met. Activities include new and renewal marketing and providing excellent customer service and leadership to accounts.

Responsibilities:

·         Primary role is relationship manager on a complex book of business of $1M+ in revenue to ensure retention of book of business.

·         Provide technical expertise in analyzing client needs, coverage forms, and quotations.

·         Establish strategic plan for clients.

·         Establish general expectations for service model.

·         Build and maintain C-Suite relationships.

·         Manage or direct account marketing, generally utilizing established markets but may be responsible for market development. 

·         Research market trends, develop strategies, and negotiate favorable arrangement and relationships.

·         Manage or direct the development of submissions and proposals.

·         Market, place, and review new and renewal insurance programs. Includes proposal preparation and presentation.

·         Respond to client requests for information, documents, and general insurance inquiries.

·         Respond to underwriter’s questions in a timely and professional manner.

·         Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management and document management systems.

·         Generate Client Service Plan and coordinate with team to meet assigned deadlines.

·         Negotiate final terms and conditions with carrier as needed.

·         Identify problems/exposures, summarize, and develop strategic solutions with the client. Includes incorporating the company’s culture, mission, and future staffing needs into recommended strategic solutions.

·         Educate, advise, and be a technical expert for clients on all lines of business insurance topics.

·         Conduct and lead on-site meetings with clients as necessary. Frequent outside service visits to the client required.

·         Stay current on new product knowledge, legislation, coverages, and technology.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         5-10 years of insurance brokerage experience.

·         High School graduate required. Four-year college degree preferred.

·         Expert understanding of insurance line of business coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.

·         Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license.

·         Superior communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

·         Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables. 

·         Must be comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products. 

·         Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.

·         Ability to deal with senior level management and have an executive presence. 

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include driving, walking, sitting, standing, and bending.

Analysis of Physical Demands:

·         Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.

·         Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand, and bend.

·         Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.

·         Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting/carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling, or squatting.
