Description and Requirements

General Description: Responsible for driving growth and profitability for the assigned Program under management.  

Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and development of the team. 
  • Manage employees through performance management, setting priorities, developing work plans and schedules, handling department issues, and approving timecards and expense reports. 
  • Identify, plan, and resolve routine department coverage and workload issues. 
  • Provide management oversight for specific program and will have P&L responsibility. 
  • Recommend to management the authority levels for underwriting staff and amendments or enhancements to applicable program. 
  • May have ability to grant limited authority to others within their approval level. 
  • Serve as a subject matter specialist for applicable program. 
  • Underwrite highly complex assignments. Determine appropriate price and develop rate tables, coverage grant, terms, and conditions. 
  • Market company’s products and services through defined distribution sources. Develop and maintain applicable agency, broker, and account relationships. 
  • Collaborate with actuarial, operations, loss control, and claims functional staff in the execution of agreed program strategy and identification of program. 
  • Provide leadership support to less experienced staff.
  • Ensure underwriting profitability and compliance aligns with carrier and regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for full-cycle management and development of Programs producers. Provide leadership and coaching to staff to generate revenue and meet sales goals.
  • Execute weekly Engagement Day meetings and training sessions.
  • Drive behaviors to ensure that staff is working to meet revenue growth targets. Includes prospecting, generating first appointments, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Ensure producers complete all requirements of the New Producer Expectation Form.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 3+ years of insurance experience, including 1 years of management experience 
  • High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required. College degree preferred. 
  • Must hold or will obtain Property & Casualty and/or appropriate business licensure.
  • Experience with insurance programs, customer retention, and claims advocacy.  
  • Experience with insurance program product development. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to develop and lead implementation of strategic business initiatives, marketing strategies, and campaigns. 
  • Ability to participate in the development and implementation of sales and service goals.   
  • Ability to provide market intelligence, consultation, and client-specific assistance to producers.  
  • Ability to travel for a few days a month.
  • Willingness to come into the office 3-4 days a week.

$155,000-  $175,000 (depends on experience). This is a bonus-eligible position with a target incentive of 20%.
