Description and Requirements
The Role:
Drive continuous revenue growth and retention by developing and executing a comprehensive carrier expansion strategy across all programs. As the PG Carrier and Market Relations Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our division-wide approach to carrier and market engagement, ensuring our organization remains at the forefront of the insurance industry.
What You'll Do:
- Create and implement a division-wide carrier and market strategy, including alternative markets, in partnership with MGU executives.
- Manage carrier relationships to maximize revenue streams and mitigate contractual risks.
- Serve as a key resource for marketing and production teams, offering insights on carrier appetites, coverage analysis, and underwriting requirements. Effectively communicate product advantages and carrier needs.
- Assist in the evaluation of line of business, insurance company, and market production trends. Recommend corrective actions to address deficiencies.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with carrier partners, ensuring mutual growth and success. This includes Domestic, Lloyds, and Re-Insurance providers.
- Collaborate with sales and service teams to coordinate business planning and optimize carrier involvement.
- Evaluate carrier performance data and develop strategic presentations to identify growth opportunities.
- Lead carrier-related initiatives, driving innovation and excellence.
- Create and manage a Carrier Relations dashboard, ensuring up-to-date and accessible market and carrier information.
- In collaboration with the Chief Underwriting Officer, serve as point person in investigating potential E&O issues and agency errors.
- Oversee carrier events, visits, and activities, fostering a culture of collaboration and partnership.
- Develop and implement best practices for insurance marketing and product delivery.
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of insurance experience, including 3-5 years in marketing and negotiation roles.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Broad underwriting experience across multiple lines and products, including experience using Actuarial and Cat Modeling results to drive underwriting profitability and program expansion.
- Experience with developing multi-carrier facilities, including shared and layered programs.
- Re-insurance placement, treaty negotiation, and fronting company experience required.
- Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license and/or appropriate business licensure.
- Strong background in revenue and risk management within insurance or financial services.
- Exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide market intelligence, consultation, and client-specific assistance to sales associates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive audiences.
