Description and Requirements

General Description: Program Development and Production Underwriting-orientated leader with multiline underwriting experience. Work closely with Program & Wholesale and Retail Property & Casualty leadership teams. Develop proprietary and unique new programs that align with USI’s Retail Verticals.

Responsibilities:

·       Develop a new program development plan in coordination with the Retail P&C Vertical Strategy.

·       Collect and examine existing books of business. Leverage AI and other tech platforms to gather outside market information. Complete program submissions.

·       Work with carriers to develop new proprietary programs and negotiate delegated underwriting authority, exclusivity, and  compensation arrangements.

·       Build underwriting and service capability in the Programs team.

·       Develop pricing models for primary and excess property and casualty products.

·       Responsible for the development of coverage forms and product filing experience.

·       Experience in developing and managing programs with Fronting Carriers and Re-Insurance Treaties.[IC1] 

·       Partner with Retail vertical leaders and sales leaders to promote and train producers on new programs.

·       Provide management oversight for specific programs. Responsible for profit and loss.

·       Recommend authority levels for underwriting staff, amendments, and enhancements to programs.

·       Underwrite complex assignments. Determine appropriate prices and develop rate tables, terms, and conditions.

·       Work with internal partners to execute program strategy. Ensure underwriting profitability and compliance aligns with carrier and regulatory standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

·       10+ years of experience managing carrier relationships, reinsurance brokers, and/or underwriting.

·       2+ years of supervisory experience.

·       Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

·       CPCU designation is a plus.

·       Experience building out insurance programs.

·       Experience in form and rate filing as well as actuarial and program specific systems.

·       Experience developing and implementing sales and service goals.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.

·       Ability to develop and lead the implementation of strategic business initiatives.  

·       Ability to provide market intelligence, consultation, and client-specific assistance to producers. 

·       Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
