General Description: Responsible for the development and training of insurance related software, tools, processes, Best Practices and industry concepts to support the USI Commercial Lines Operations team. The Commercial Lines Trainer is an entry level training position that will function as part of the National Commercial Lines Training Team to support the growth, objectives, and learning and development of the Commercial Lines Operations team members.


·       Train and support all Commercial Lines operations employees on systems, procedures and general educational efforts. Training includes but is not limited to:

Ø  All Commercial Lines Workflows, Procedures and Best Practices: New Business, Renewals, Rewrites, Remarkets, Cancellations, Non-Renewals, Audits and Endorsements.

Ø  Sagitta functionality including: Entering New Clients, Certificates of Insurance, Evidence of Property Form, Invoicing, Client/Policy Multi-Info, Client Relationships Proposals, and Import/Export features. 

Ø  ImageRight functionality.

Ø  All computer system updates, enhancements and workflow changes.

·       Assist in the creation and development of new training concepts and materials as requested.

·       Create, manage, present training material, and deliver quality training to all Commercial Lines Operations employees at a national level.

·       Conduct live webinars, record training sessions, create on-demand training courses, and support other training course needs as requested.

·       Monitor the CL Training Support email to assist all Commercial Lines Operations employees with questions related to systems and processes.

·       Participate in individual and team projects to support training initiatives as assigned.

·       Assist in assessing training needs through surveys, employee feedback, or consultation with managers, etc. as requested.

·       Stay up to date on industry trends, new product information and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance of Commercial Lines operations employees.

·       Other duties as requested or assigned by manager that support the Commercial Lines National Training team initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·       3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance Agency along with comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverage, underwriting and rating concepts.

·       High school graduate. College degree preferred, but not required.

·       Property and Casualty insurance license preferred.

·       Experience using the Sagitta and ImageRight systems highly desired.

·       Ability to use a variety of media to train associates and manage web based virtual and classroom settings.

·       Must be able to maintain an engaging, energetic, and professional demeanor in a training room or virtual setting.

·       Experience and understanding of eLearning practices a plus.

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and supervision and a high degree of accuracy.

·       Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Must be well-organized, a self-starter, and possess a high degree of attention to detail.

·       Must be a collaborative team player willing to learn new skills quickly and develop innovative training approaches.

·       Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with operations team, co-workers, and other business contacts. Provide information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the USI.

·       Strong business writing or technical writing skills.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products.

·       Strong communication skills needed, both oral and written.

·       Must have the ability to travel to various USI offices. Limited overnight travel.
