Description and Requirements

General Description: Manage and retain a book of assigned employee benefits accounts. Includes coordination of day-to-day customer service and new enrollments. Serve as primary contact for clients and vendors on Medicare rules, guidelines, and enrollments. 

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a book of business comprised of Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) clients.  
  • Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients. Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers. 
  • Help process and facilitate new Medicare enrollments for Medicare Advantage & Prescription Drug Plan (MAPD), Medigap, and PDP plans.
  • Manage renewal questions, concerns, and enrollments with clients and carriers.
  • Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop client accounts.
  • Regularly communicate with clients regarding Medicare rule and regulation updates.
  • Process all policy changes, endorsements, and other requests as needed.
  • Provide resolution support and oversight for client issues. Includes contract clarifications and billing.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems.
  • Maintain a high degree of understanding of technology used in the Medicare market.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 5 years of experience in the health benefits industry, preferably the Medicare and/or Individual market or related marketplace. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Health and Ancillary plans for the Medicare and Individual market preferred.
  • Must hold Life & Health license or obtain within three months from date of hire. 
  • Strong analytical skills: capable of using and interpreting benefit-related facts and figures. 
  • Ability to stay organized and focused in a busy, high-volume environment.
  • Detail oriented with effective communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting products and services to small audiences.
