General Description: Responsible for coordinating USI’s leave of absence program nationally. Includes short- and long-term disability, FMLA, state leave, and USI’s parental leave program.

Serve as main leave of absence contact for USI. Serve as a liaison between employee, local HR/management, and disability provider. 
Complete timecard entries in HRIS time management system for all employees on a leave of absence. 
Manage state disability and paid family leave offsets. Work with Payroll team to ensure accurate leave payments.
Monitor and track absence status and return to work dates. Includes updating status in IT and HRIS system. 
Assist employees in resolving open items with USI’s disability provider to certify and extend leaves. 
Advise employees on various federal, state, and local leave laws. Includes FMLA, state specific family leave and disability programs, and company policies.
Provide guidance to employees to help them understand their paycheck while on leave. 
Manage intermittent leave time and disabled and working arrangements.
Coordinate with local HR/management to develop modified work schedules or return to work dates. 
Maintain up to date knowledge of federal and state government laws and regulations. Includes tracking state paid family leave changes. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
2-4 years of experience in employee benefits and leave management. 
Bachelor’s degree required. 
General understanding of employee benefits as they relate to leave of absence. Includes short/long term disability, and state disability pay. 
Working knowledge of employment, federal and state employment laws, and regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
Self-motivated. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment. 
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
Strong client service skills and respect for confidential participant information
Ability to set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions. 


Compensation & Benefits Information:

Salary Range: $55,000  - $65,000 

This is a bonus-eligible position with a target incentive of 5%
