Description and Requirements

General Description: The Quoting Coordinator is responsible for supporting the marketing proposal needs of the Wholesale team. Includes responding to carrier and/or broker specific questions, ensuring new business, renewals, and broker of record letters meet the requirements of the writing carrier. Coordinate day-to-day customer service and support the broker-Emerson Rogers (ER) relationship. Act as a liaison between the insurance carrier and internal staff. Participate in broker meetings.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with brokers determined by value of business and level of difficulty. 
  • Assist with quoting renewal alternatives and new business. 
  • Work with Account Executives and vendors to negotiate rates, secure new business, and maintain existing business. 
  • Process plan changes submitted by Account Executives, Broker Consultants, and Brokers. 
  • Provide internal staff with follow-up communication and approvals on plan changes and open enrollment issues.
  • Provide renewals to appropriate brokers. Save renewal copies from carrier to ER shared drive and forward renewals to appropriate Brokers.
  • Enter data into commission database.
  • Process new business applications. Ensure cases are installed quickly and accurately by the vendor.
  • Respond to carrier, internal staff, and/or broker questions. Assist with claims and billing problems.
  • Update client database on an ongoing basis. Create and maintain case files of critical client information based on implemented workflows.
  • Coordinate with internal team to ensure quality and turn-around times meet ER standards.  
  • Stay up to date with insurance regulations, carrier plan options, underwriting rules, and other value-added programs offered by ER to the Brokers. 
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers, vendors, and internal staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 5+ years of employee benefits experience. Prior experience in a group benefits environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Must hold a Life & Health license or obtain within three months from date of hire. 
  • Knowledge of health and ancillary plans, carriers, and quoting abilities preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail. Efficient and accurate administrative and data entry skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team environment. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel. Includes experience with formatting and formulas.

Salary Range:  $58,000 - $60,000
