General Description:  International Account Executive is responsible for growth and retention of assigned international accounts and providing international insurance expertise within the New England, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions.   Activities included, but not limited to the marketing and placement of controlled master programs, handling client questions and requests, and understanding the regulations/conditions affecting multinational businesses.  Required to perform essential functions and meet service standards and Best Practices developed by USI.


  • Responsible for retention of assigned accounts by maintaining contact with the clients, involvement in marketing decisions and renewal process and ensuring all client requests are addressed.
  • Provide technical support to Producers, specifically in analyzing client needs, international coverage forms and quotations.
  • Provide technical expertise in coordinating the inside service of new and existing international clients through sales, account development, and problem solving in accordance with the objectives and procedures based on USI Core Values and Standards.
  • Prepare stewardship reports.
  • Market, place and review of new and renewal home foreign insurance programs, including proposal preparation, when needed.
  • Respond to underwriters’ questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management and document management systems.
  • Identify exposure to loss and recommend appropriate coverage’s in coordination with Sales Executives.
  • Other projects or duties, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 10+ years experience in International Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance.
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of international broking, underwriting requirements, compliance, pricing, forms use, and service requirements.
  • Understand international program structuring, pricing, account coordination, implementation and maintenance.
  • Understand regulations/conditions affecting multinational business (e.g., rate/form control, admitted insurance rules, currency and reinsurance controls.
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, Computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing and bending.

Analysis of Physical Demands:

·       Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.

·       Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand and bend.

·       Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.

·       Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires Lifting/Carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/ turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.
