In this role, you will supervise our Individual Benefits (Life and Disability) administrative operations center to ensure it runs smoothly and effectively resulting in excellent customer service and retention to our customers.  Location is Matawan, NJ (Exit 120 off the GSP).


In this role, you will liaise and support the Affinity operation with account management, reporting and general operational issues including:

  • Set up new association accounts; Conduct system testing to ensure they are set-up properly and consistent with carrier guidelines (including claims, billing, and reporting mechanisms).  You will also ensure that the systems are properly maintained on a go-forward and consistent basis, working closely with I.T. to ensure systems are properly programmed and operating in an effective manner;

  • Conduct on boarding and ongoing training for staff regarding product information to ensure product is being communicated and delivered in accordance with carrier guidelines;

  • Work with carriers in the administration of carrier audits;

  • Prepare various reporting (weekly monthly, and ad hoc) including reports for carriers, internal sales, marketing, KPI’s, etc

  • Identify/recommend operating process/procedures to ensure best business practices for the department.

  • Routinely processes inbound applications by checking eligibility, review underwriting requirement to ensure the application is completed and accurately prior to transmitting to the corresponding carrier.

  • Routinely Set-up new client screens accurately as well as confirming that the operating system is calculating the rate appropriately.

  • This position requires approximately 15% travel


  • High School Degree or G.E.D; a  4 year college degree is helpful.

  • Experience with insurance products; Life and disability products preferred; as well as experience successfully managing/servicing accounts and handling escalated customer service issues.

  • Must also have prior experience successfully supervising a team.

  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel. Experience with Pivot Tables is helpful.

  • Life & Health License is required or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Must have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must have strong customer service orientation as well as client facing presentation skills

  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong business relationships as well as the ability to deal effectively with difficult or sensitive situations.

  • Must have the ability to have initiative and effectively/independently manage workload while exhibiting very sound judgment

  • Strong project management skills as well as process management skills are required.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail along with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
