General Description:
Responsible day-to-day HR functions for a specified business unit.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Regional Human Resources Officer and Regional Human Resources Manager to ensure company compliance to all federal, state and local laws.
- Partner with Business Line management to resolve employee relations issues. Provide effective coaching.
- Ensure effective onboarding of new hires.
- Work with centralized benefits team in administration of workers compensation and employee leaves of absence
- Assist with Company performance and compensation management cycle. Help to educate employees and managers on the process.
- Facilitate formal disciplinary actions including terminations.
- Manage employee off-boarding as necessary. Conduct exit interviews.
- Partner with HR colleagues in the execution of company initiatives, managing regional communications and supporting regional events.
- Manage HR Information system record changes.
- Help audit systems and processes for compliance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3-5 years as Human Resources Generalist. Understanding of HR Practices.
- BA in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Certification in Human Resources (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred, but not required.
- Competence in employee relations with strong communication skills. Effective management of confidential information.
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to make recommendations to resolve problems and ensure policies are upheld.
- Must be successful working independently with limited supervision.
- Proficient with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products, including Excel. HRIS system experience preferred.
