This position will have full program P&L responsibility for the Financial Institutions Program Division. It requires an understanding of, and familiarity with, all aspects of the Financial Institutions property and casualty insurance segment.  The overall responsibility will be the management and supervision an integrated team of underwriters, sales, marketing and support personnel while maintaining a client customer book of business.  The role will require expertise in retail agent distribution management, Lloyds broker and syndicate relationship management along with the development of personnel to handle a wide array of insurance products which include delegated underwriting authority as well as open brokerage. The primary objective will be to maximize production and profitability of the Financial Institutions Program Division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manage department staff including hiring, training, career development, performance reviews and performance improvement plans.

Evaluate current management talent and structure and make recommendations for changes, if needed, to assure high level expertise, growth, operational efficiency and profitability.

Examine the various disciplines of underwriting, sales, marketing and technology to assure quality control, timeliness of client response, accuracy of documentation and reporting, and compliance with all corporate policies and procedures. 

Establish developmental goals and business objectives for each direct report and assure the same is done for all Financial Institutions Program employees.

Regularly meet with the Financial Institutions Program team to review all aspects of the program.

Regularly meet with risk bearing partners to evaluate program performance relative to the respective product line and negotiate product enhancements to foster growth and competitive position.

Represent the Company in a professional manner consistent with being a Program Manager.

Report to and keep US Risk Underwriters, Inc. President abreast of material aspects of the Financial Institutions Program on a regular basis

Develop annual plans and budgets in collaboration with Programs Segment senior management and accounting department personnel.

Effectively manage, hire, develop and performance manage personnel to assure achievement of the Financial Institutions Program goals.

Manage, coordinate and develop Carrier and other risk bearing entity relationships to assure a comprehensive and competitive portfolio of products. 

Develop expanded underwriting authority for Financial Institutions products and programs

Understand and manage all data elements associated with the various product lines within the Financial Institutions program division.

Meet or exceed annual production and profitability goals set for the Financial Institution Program division.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and a  minimum of five years of Financial Institutions underwriting or sales experience in conjunction with two years of management experience; or 

10+ years of Financial Institutions management and sales and/or underwriting in some combination.

Proficient in MS Office suite of products 

Ability to develop and lead implementation of strategic business initiatives, marketing strategies, and campaigns  

Ability to participate in the development and implementation of sales and service goals to ensure that organizational and customer goals are met  

Ability to provide market intelligence, consultation, and client-specific assistance to producers  

Insurance programs customer retention and claims advocacy experience  

Insurance program product development experience 

Maintain licensing and accreditation necessary to perform essential functions 

Must meet carrier and cover holder fiduciary requirements

Physical Demands:

On premises work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, Computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, bending and typing.
