General Description:  The Corp AC Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for assigned regions and to act in a Liaison capacity between the regional finance teams, the corporate finance team and the NAC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the month-end close for assigned regions. This includes review and completion of all required journal entries in Sagitta and SAP to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting for the regions and USI as a whole, the expected result of which is the basis for company decision making, external valuation and investment purposes, SOX and other regulatory compliance and accurate GAAP financial statements.

  • Oversee completion of all Balance Sheet reconciliations including sub-ledger reconciliations to GL. Ensure all reconciling items are properly accounted for and cleared on a timely basis.

  • Act as liaison with regional offices on resolution of accounting issues.

  • Collaborate with Regional Financial Management to continually improve data flows, reporting systems and analysis.

  • Complete consolidated reconciliations for specific Retail Balance Sheet accounts and sub-ledger reconciliations.

  • Reconcile Internal and External audit requests.

  • Prepare annual tax provision package for Corporate and assist the tax department as needed.

  • Work with Producer Payable department as needed with producer compensation settlements, sub-ledger reconciliations to GL, processing commission payments, posting adjustments including producer draw and chargeback entries, and answering inquiries.

  • Ensure ADP and Concur interfaces with SAP post properly and are in balance.

  • Prepare and post Deferred Rent entries and work with regions to develop and post compensation allocation entries between the offices.

  • Work with Corporate Finance with retention calculations and make appropriate GL entries.

  • Training resource for Jr. Financial Analysts and other accounting staff.

  • Provide guidance and resource for acquisition integration and GL conversions.

  • Post Contingent and Supplemental accrual entries and assist with reconciliations.

  • Respond to regional information requests as needed.

     

Quarterly Duties:

  • Prepare Quarterly Producer Debit Balance Reserve calculations and post to GL.

  • Review and approve Client AR Allowance for Bad Debt calculations prepared by the AR department.

  • Prepare Quarterly Regional Balance Sheet support Package(s) and participate in Balance Sheet review meetings with Corporate.

  • Oversee completion of Accounting Center Quarterly Package for Corporate and external reporting.

  • Prepare Balance Sheet Variance analysis and ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts are properly reconciled and supported.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • B.S degree with concentration in Accounting

  • SAP, MS Office and Excel proficiency required

  • Minimum 3-5  years accounting experience required, including general ledger

  • Strong work ethic with a defined sense of urgency

  • Organized self-starter that works well in a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail and retention of pertinent information

  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP and Financial Statement Reporting requirements
