As an Employment Attorney Consultant, you will work closely with a tight knit and highly functioning team of lawyers committed to providing innovative, legally sound, business solutions and education to our clients in areas such as employment law, human resources, best practices, and risk management.

The Details: The Employment Attorneys provides key guidance and resources to private and public sector employers throughout the United States on a wide variety of compliance and best practices issues, while managing a workload of recurring revenue projects.

To be successful, the Employment Attorney must be able to offer practical, workable advice and solutions that balance compliance with best practices in an ever-changing landscape of human resources, employment law, risk management, employee benefits, and leadership development.

Responsibilities:

·         Provide advice and guidance to clients orally and by email that is consistent with client cultures and risk tolerances

·         Research and stay on top of legal and best practices developments

·         Review and revise documents, including policies, contracts, forms, and communication pieces

·         Develop and maintain compliance and best practices tools and documents

·         Work with clients to draft customized employee handbooks

·         Draft affirmative action plans

·         Independently manage projects from inception through completion

·         Closely collaborate with other team members to support each other and refine department resources and practices

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Must be a self-starter capable of working independently without much oversight.

·         Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy.

·         Must have strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate work product.

·         Must be capable of admitting to and learning from mistakes.

·         Must be able to quickly assess and learn organizational roles, responsibilities, and process flows.

·         Must demonstrate cooperation and collaboration in team settings and be able to establish and maintain cordial and effective relationships with internal business partners and team members.

·         Must have proven ability to work with a diverse set of individuals and personalities.

·         Must be able to clearly explain complex information orally and in writing.

·         Must be able to interact effectively with clients of all levels of sophistication by utilizing good communication skills, listening with intent, and providing information and guidance that is best designed to meet client needs.

·         Must have background and thorough understanding of employment laws and/or laws impacting business practices and risk management.

·         Must have strong research skills, along with a demonstrated ability to self-educate and stay abreast of legal and best practices developments.

·         Must be proficient with computers and quickly competent with new technology tools, including full competence with MS Office Suite products and Adobe products.

Education and Experience:

·         College degree, Juris Doctor (JD), and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required.

·         7+ years’ experience working in the fields of employment, business practices, and risk assessment.

Salary Range:  $130,000 - $145,000

This position is bonus eligible with a target of 10%.
